What is Representative Review?

Representative Review is a civic platform where residents rank and review their elected officials — city, state and federal — see who is up for election, and follow what their representatives post. Read more about us.

Is it free?

Yes. Reading the site and creating an account are free.

Are you affiliated with the government or a political party?

No. Representative Review is not affiliated with any government office, elected official, campaign or political party, and it does not endorse candidates.

Finding your representatives

How do I find my representatives?

Enter your zip code on the Find my representatives page. If you are signed in and have a zip code on your profile, we use it automatically.

Why do I see my state's whole House delegation instead of just my member?

A zip code can cross congressional district lines, so it can't tell us exactly which district you live in. We show every U.S. House member from your state, and your member is one of them.

What does the map show?

The representatives map colors each state by its governor's party. Select a state to see its governor, U.S. senators and the size and majority party of its House delegation, or open the state's page for everyone currently in office.

Where does your information about representatives come from?

Members of Congress come from public-domain official data that we refresh regularly. Governors and candidates are compiled from public sources, including state election offices. Our staff review and update the information.

I found a mistake. How do I report it?

Please contact us with the page it is on, what should change and, if possible, a link to an official source.

Reviews and your account

How do reviews work?

Signed-in readers with a verified email address can review a representative by rating them on a short set of questions and adding their own comments. Other readers can reply to reviews.

Why do I need to verify my email address?

Verification helps make sure every review comes from a real person and keeps the conversation accountable.

Can I change or delete my review?

You can delete any of your reviews from My reviews on your dashboard, then write a new one.

Is there a limit on how much I can post?

To prevent spam, there is a limit on how many reviews, replies and messages an account can post in a short period. If you reach it, wait a few minutes and try again.

What is "My candidates"?

Select the favorite button on any representative's page to add them to My candidates, a list on your dashboard of the officials you want to keep an eye on.

Can I contact the people who write your articles?

Yes. Use the Message the author button on an article or representative page while signed in. Replies appear under Messages on your dashboard.

Elections

Which elections do you cover?

The Elections page covers the next election on the calendar, currently the 2026 midterm elections: every U.S. Senate, U.S. House and governor's race on the ballot.

What are "races to watch"?

In a midterm year, our staff feature the races of national interest — for example, contests that could decide control of the Senate. In a presidential year, we feature the presidential candidates instead.

Where do the candidate lists come from?

They are compiled from public candidate filings reported by state election offices. Candidates sometimes withdraw or are added late, so lists can change; please tell us if one is out of date.

Can I see the races in my state?

Yes. Each state's page lists the races on its ballot alongside everyone currently in office. Open your state from the map or the Elections page.

We use the cookies the site needs to work, such as keeping you signed in. Analytics and advertising cookies are only used if you allow them in the cookie banner.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile on your dashboard and choose Delete account. Your account is removed permanently.
